As far as I know, this might be a world first

I just might have invented a new tool in numerology. I’ve done a few searches and there’s nothing like it online. There is cartomancy, but that’s using the 52-playing card deck — 1-10 plus jack, queen and king and the four suits: hearts, diamonds, spades and clubs. While interesting in its own right, that’s not what I’m talking about.

rollercoaster

For the past few years I’ve been watching a Tarot reader pull cards online. I’ve been a bit interested in the Tarot, mostly because it aligns in part with Chaldean numerology, which I practice. A couple of months ago after watching one session, I thought what if I created a set of cards with numbers on them and used them in a similar way? I’ve also been long interested in The Nordic Runes and have used them often to great effect. And it occurred to me why not combine elements of The Runes and the Tarot with numerology to develop a set of playing cards to use to ask questions about, well, anything, much like we ask a Tarot reader.

So, I’ve designed up and had printed some double-sided playing cards and I’ve written the numbers 1 to 52 plus 0 on them to form a deck. I actually started with a smaller deck of 37 to cover the numbers that have readings; not all the numbers between 1 and 52 have specific readings. I’m now using the full deck of 53 and have read for a few friends and got them to pull cards for themselves. Of course, much like both the Tarot and The Runes, I can pull them for them, with permission given. But it is essentially a DIY process with me offering some interpretations because it can be a bit daunting when you are reading three or more cards together. In time though and with enough study, there’s no reason why people couldn’t go completely DIY.

Because it’s very new, it’s evolving all the time. I am refining it as I go as well as with feedback from one friend who’s been keen to offer suggestions.

It’s not the same as a personal reading, which I offer for a fee. I don’t know how to price it yet. I probably won’t for a while. I want to keep refining it and get even better at the interpretations. But at some point I will offer it as a standalone. I am making it part of all future personal readings if people want to know something specific: the “should I do this” type questions people so often have. It’d be good to do it in person, but it could easily be done remotely.

Here I am inventing something and I’m not even in a 4-year (haha), the year most associated with inventions, or a 1-year, the year most associated with starting something new. However, I suppose the world enters a 1-year in 2026. Maybe I’m just getting in a bit early!

Fascinating concept that makes sense. I'm an astrologer who does a lot of horary questions, which is parallel this concept. I believe "Ask and ye shall receive" is a promise from the Universe and an answer will be given regardless of the means used to ask. Good luck, Stevie! You are probably on to something!

Thanks. I like what you say. Numerology can drill down and offer insights at the horary level like astrology, but it requires more work. I think astrology is arguably better at it. Which is why the cards have been so useful.

So far, four people who've used the cards have gleaned deeper insights into the questions they've asked. Which is often the way. Doing the three-card pull has allowed them to take notice of the challenge they face in deciding how to approach their questions. I'm really enjoying it, though there's more to learn about interpreting.
