Fasting is arguably one of the most powerful of all the tools for cleansing the body. And with most of us ingesting an array of preservatives, chemical additives, pesticides, heavy metals, medication and nicotine — even if we don’t smoke — as well as accumulating toxic waste products from poorly combined food and from overeating, regular fasting is even more important than ever. It can be for as little as 24 hours, but the benefits will endure.
